AN OIL and gas workshop was conducted yesterday at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) where more than 50 people attended, including government officials, students and personnel from the private sector.
One of the speakers, Dk Nadeeya Pg Hj Mohd Salleh, a legal officer from PetroleumBrunei, touched on the role and some of the projects that PetroleumBrunei initiated over the past years.
PetroleumBrunei was granted all mineral rights in four prime petroleum blocks, comprising offshore Blocks J and K.
Block J was awarded to a consortium made up of Total, BHP Billiton and Amerada Hess whereas Block K was awarded to a consortium of Shell Group, ConocoPhillips and Mitsubishi Corporation.
Dk Nadeeya also informed the participants that PetroleumBrunei had previously signed a production sharing agreement with Loon Brunei Limited and QAF Brunei.
PetroleumBrunei awarded Block M to a consortium comprising of China Sino Oil Co Ltd, Triton Borneo Ltd and Jana Corporation. The operator for the site is Tap Energy (Borneo) Pte Ltd.
Other speakers at the workshop include Aziza Tajibayeva, the country manager for Nations Petroleum, Mariani Hj Sabtu from the Petroleum Unit and Alfred Stawiki from Tap Energy Borneo Pte Ltd.
