TWO rape cases, six counts of causing bodily harm and several theft cases were among the reports received from police stations throughout the country in the past week.
In the weekly report on criminal offences and traffic violations by the Royal Brunei Police Force Public Relations Unit yesterday, two local men, a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old, were detained for their involvement in two separate reports of car break in and car thefts.
Police records show that there were four theft cases committed in Kg Kiarong, Gadong, Jalan Berakas, along Jalan Singa Menteri, Sungai Teraban and Sungai Tujoh in the Belait District.
Items that were reported stolen were one Nokia cellphone, $56 in cash, one ATM card, one identity card, a driving licence, a 20-metre-long earth cable, one 18-inch length of copper and 40 manhole covers.
In relation to the theft cases, two men have been detained, aged 21 and 22 years old. The cases are still under investigation.
One car was reported stolen from the Sungai Lampai, Jalan Kota Batu parking lot in Bandar Seri Begawan. The car is a blue Hyundai Atoz registered with licence plate BW 5081, while one case of house break in and theft was committed around Kampung Kulapis.
In the house break in case, items that were reported stolen included a bag containing money, one passport, one driving licence and cash amounting to $30.
Five cases of thefts committed in buildings were reported in various locations, namely Kg Sengkurong, Gadong, Lambak Kanan area, Jalan Jerudong and Kg Kulapis.
Items that were reported stolen from these locations included cash amounting to $1,310, one unit drill, 30 pairs of shirts, 20 leather wallets, 95 crystal bracelets, one Rolex watch, 25 pairs of sunglasses, two wallets, cash amounting to $120 and a handphone.
Other criminal offences included four cases of fraud, one case of causing bodily injury, one for falsifying information, a minor fire at the cargo bay of the Brunei International Airport, and a foreign woman was detained for prostitution.
An arrest warrant was issued for unpaid loans for a 35-year-old local woman, one impersonation of a government employee, one customs offence, two immigration offences and two misuse of drugs offence where two men have been detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
There was also a case of SMS disturbance, seven cases of runaway employees, a landslide in Kg Jangsak and a person attacked by a dog in Jalan Kumbang Pasang.
Traffic cases that were reported over the past week included 22 cases of car on car collisions and 20 cases of self accidents. Of the 42 cases, one person suffered serious injuries, four minor injuries and one met with a fatal accident. A total of 27 reports were from Brunei-Muara District, 12 in Belait District, two in Tutong District and one in Temburong District.
